PRODUCTION STYLING

CUNIFORM was hired to do wardrobe styling for all stage members of the production for Perfume Genius "The Sun Still Burns Here".

PROJECT SCOPE

There were 3 non-dance members representing on stage and 7 dancers on stage that we were to curate/create wardrobe for.

We started by flying to NYC to meet with the entire team and dancers. During this meeting we presented our pitch deck for a wardrobe that included colors, vibe/aesthetic and specific shapes/textures that we wanted to explore.

The conversation was unbelievably inspiring and seamless, we all just kept adding layers onto one another’s thoughts. That team is so talented and it really showed from the get go.

PROJECT DETAILS

We had about a year to produce a wardrobe for this project but it was necessary. The project was set out to go on tour with Perfume Genius in multiple cities nationwide.

We had our creative meeting in NYC to make sure we were all on the same page, then we started curating/creating clothing for the show and doing pre-fittings on the dancers who were based in Seattle when we could.

We then were in week-long pre-production in Seattle with the team, where we were able to fit all members of the stage as well as style everyone for sneak-peek marketing materials.

From there, we flew to Massachusettes for another week-long in residency to finesse wardrobe on stage with the entire crew. This allowed us to see how the wardrobe all worked together inside the production as well as make any adjustments to allow the dancers to be comfortable and move.
